is released. My novelette “The Gambler” is in it.
Over at Pyr’s website, you can read Paul Cornell’s “Catherine Drewe” in its entirety. Lou calls it, “a tale of a Bond-like character in an alternate history where the Great Game never ended and the British Empire – along with the other world powers – extends its reach throughout the solar system.”
Also included are stories by Kay Kenyon, Chris Nakashima-Brown, Nancy Kress, Jack Skillingstead, Cory Doctorow and Benjamin Rosenbaum, Jack McDevitt, Paul McAuley, Mike Resnick and Pat Cadigan, Ian McDonald, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Karl Schroeder and Tobias S. Buckell, Jeff Carlson.
This is the only novelette I’ve written this year. “Pump Six,” even though it was published in March was actually penned quite a while ago. All the rest of my writing time has been buried in book projects. I’m actually looking forward to finishing THE WINDUP GIRL so that I can go play with the short-form again. I miss it.
Here’s the FF2 cover:
