Pump Six cover

January 3rd, 2008 | by Paolo |

I just got the final cover for Pump Six and Other Stories from the gentlemen at Nightshade:

Pump Six Cover

And here’s a link to the entire jacket:

I’m really excited to see the collection taking its final form. It’s starting to feel real to me. Now when someone asks what I write, I can point them to the collection, instead of mumbling that they’ll need to excavate back issues of F&SF or Asimov’s. I feel warm and fuzzy about this.

I’m really excited about the look of it. Nightshade went out of their way to make the design work both for them and for me, and I really appreciated the extra effort they put into it. Now I just want a copy in my hot little hands. :-)

This cover make the fanboy in me shiver. I remember Jeremy mentioning this collection back in July when I interviewed him for my podcast, so it’s cool to see the final product coming out. Looking forward to reading it.

Oooh, congrats on what is sure to be a head-turner on the shelves. Gotta lurve those boys at Nightshade ;)

    Great cover!

Gosh darn it, Paolo. You didn’t tell me you had a blog. I had to stumble on this one *g*.

I had the weirdest dream about you the other day. But instead of dwelling on the unspeakable horror of it all, I decided to use it as an opportunity to promote your story collection, which I am feverishly looking forward to.

That, and I thought it would be funny to introduce myself to one of my favorite science fiction writers by saying that I had a strange dream about them. :)

    Sincerely,
    John-Mark

You’re right, that is a weird dream. But I like that I’m taking over the world. It plays into my megalomania. :-)

Also, you didn’t say what kind of dress I was wearing. Was it sort of a party cocktail dress? Or more of a ball gown?

In any case, I’m glad you’re a fan. Hope you enjoy the collection.

It was actually sort of a cool leather dress a la The Matrix. You know, something kind of like this. In fact, I would say you looked exactly like that. With a short pink wig, like this.

And you had a spray can in your hand.

    You were bad-ass. In a Matrix/Resident Evil/Hannah Montana/I-would-never-want-to-see-that-movie-in-a-million-years kind of way. :)

    I think I now have post-traumatic stress.

You’re still bad-ass, of course. But in a fiction-writing, story-spinning kind of way.

    Sincerely,
    John-Mark
