I've seen writers who say they don't believe in writers block. I believe in it.
I believe.
But it's not this bogus stuff about not being able to write. For me, it's the process of not being able to move forward. Which is, trust me, different. I can generate lots ...

I'm reading a book right now. SF. And I'm struck by how much world building the author is engaged in. He's putting all this labor into describing future technologies, future cultural developments, future living structures... he's working really hard to create a highly realistic and also highly disposable ...

Does anyone use a sandwich maker? My wife has one. She actually asked for it as a wedding present and she does things like put strained Moroccan stew between slices of bread and then -- psshhhh -- squeezes and grills it into this odd sort of squished grilled sandwich. More ...

Just watched the BSG episode "The Woman King." (correx: this was actually "A Day in the Life".)
I've noticed that that the only two characters whose sexual chemistry I buy is Adama's and Roslyn's. Those two are hot. Everyone else? Not so much.

Those greeniacs are probably going to put a nice plastic (recycled, of course) bag over the head of the girl who shows up in the end of this video.
That'll teach her to stop her damn out-gassing.
This video has been around for a little bit, but the Competitive Enterprise ...

I've just become aware that Wordpress has gobbled some people's comments. I've just gone back in and rescued a handful.
In general, your comments should appear immediately. If they don't, email me and I'll dive back into the v!agra, big boobs and phentamine sea and see if I can ...

My friend Michelle Nijhuis (award-winning journalist and all-around cool person) went to the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science, for those of you who don't know... I didn't) Annual Meeting out in San Francisco this year. Major science geekfest.
She passed on a couple choice quotes that ...

So, I haven't been reading much recently, owing to time constraints. Now that my kid is becoming more self-sufficient, I'm looking to find some new interesting books to read.
Amend that, lets just say that I've been reading very little in the sf/f genres in the last decade. I'm looking ...
